The metal worker Hermann Strozyna, born on 3 February 1897, was secretary of the Revolutionary Union Opposition (RGO) and the Agricultural Labourers' Union in Frankfurt (Oder).

Immediately after the National Socialists were handed power, he was arrested and taken to the concentration camp at Sonnenburg (today S?o?sk, Poland). After inhuman treatment there, he was released, because he had developed an acute illness of the lung. He had to be admitted to the lung treatment centre. When he heard of another possible arrest, he attempted suicide.

On 29 February 1940 he died of his injuries.
